Reported first by TOI, the warning highlights that several vulnerabilities have been identified which could be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on a targeted system.
The attack could allow access to the personal data of the affected system. Moreover, via this, attackers can also inject malware that could allow the system to get further compromised.
The high severity warning is for users of Android 9, Android 10, Android 11 and Android 12, as well as for Windows and Linux users using Chrome.
The advisory highlights that on Android these vulnerabilities exist due to flaws in the Media Codec and Media Framework components in Google Play system updates, Framework Components, System Components, Kernel Components, Qualcomm components, Qualcomm closed-source components and MediaTek components.
Moreover, the advisory further states that multiple vulnerabilities were found in Chrome due to Type Confusion in V8, use after free in web apps, UI, window manager, screen capture, file API, auto-fill and developer tools; incorrect security UI in autofill, a heap buffer overflow in extensions, BFCache and ANGLE; Type Confusion in loader etc.
