Instagram Reels: How To Use Instagram Reels, And Is It Better Than TikTok
Instagram Reels allows users to create 15-second short videos, similar to what TikTok does.
TikTok ban surely disappointed various content creators on the platform. While many were trying to find other platforms to start afresh on, many TikTok influencers were seen asking its audiences to make the shift to Instagram, after the ban was announced.
However, it looks like they won¡¯t be sad for long as Instagram has just introduced a TikTok-like video posting feature called Instagram Reels.
Instagram Reels allows users to create 15-second short videos, similar to what TikTok used to do. The feature was initially seen testing in Brazil (among other nations) and even India and now it¡¯s finally being rolled out to the masses in the country.
The Instagram Reels platform is already loaded with content from Indian creators like Ammy Virk, Gippy Grewal, Komal Pandey, Arjun Kanungo, Jahnavi Dasetty aka Mahathalli, Indrani Biswas aka Wondermunna, Kusha Kapila, Radhika Bangia, RJ Abhinav and Ankush Bhaguna.
How to use Instagram Reels
You¡¯ll find Instagram Reels in the same spot where you find features like Boomerang, Superzoom, Create etc -- in the Stories section when you slide from the left of your Instagram screen.
Editing on Instagram Reels
What makes Instagram Reels better than the regular story posting feature of the app is the ability to edit your content with creative elements to make it look cool. The app has included numerous AR effects to make the content look more interesting.
Audio on Instagram Reels
With the agreement between Facebook and Bollywood music publishing giant Saregama, the app allows you to select from a variety of songs and audio clips to make enter videos. However, what¡¯s cool is that Instagram hasn¡¯t limited the audio clips to just that. In case you want to include the audio of your choice, you can do so too by manually uploading it.
Privacy on Instagram Reels
In case you have a public account, the content created on Instagram Reels will be shared on the ¡®Explore¡¯ tab of the app where people who don¡¯t follow you can also look at your content.
In case you have a private account, the video will appear in your Stories while also giving you the ability to share it with your friends as a direct message.
Instagram Reels Download
Instagram Reel will gradually start rolling as an update to the Instagram app itself, starting today at 7:30 PM Indian Standard Time for Android as well as iOS devices.
Looks like the TikTok ban in India will definitely benefit US-owned Instagram through Reels, while Indian apps ecosystem fights to make itself heard.
