iPhone 15 Could Get Revolutionary 5X Periscope Camera, Leaks Reveal
The optics are being made by Lante Optics and if and when the components get approved they're expected to make 100 million units just for the iPhone 15 Pro models.
While the next generation of iPhone is still months away, leaks are already surfacing for 2023¡¯s iPhone 15 series with the Pro models expected to sport a periscope zoom lens.

This is according to a recent 9to5Mac report by (info by analyst Jeff Pu). As per the leak, Apple is currently in process of testing prototypes and component samples of the 5X telephoto lenses for the iPhone 15 Pro. Something similar was also speculated by famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The lenses will be in a periscope form which allows installation of longer telephoto lenses horizontally, making them fit neatly in a sleek form factor.

Apple isn¡¯t the first company however to adopt Periscope lenses in its cameras. One of the first smartphone cameras we got to see this feature was in Asus¡¯ Zenfone Zoom, followed by Huawei P30 as well as the recently unveiled Galaxy S21 Ultra.

As exciting as it might seem, this year¡¯s focus would be on the iPhone 14 and leaks have indicated that the series for the very first time could feature 6GB of RAM. Moreover, leaks indicate the base variant to have 256GB of storage as opposed to just 128GB in current iPhone 13 Pro models.
Leaks also hint that all four of the iPhone 14 variants -- iPhone 14, Mini, 14 Pro and Pro Max -- will get 120Hz ProMotion OLED panels compared to just the Pro variants getting it with the iPhone 13.
