Poco X2 vs Redmi K20 vs Nokia 7.2 vs Samsung Galaxy M40 Specs And Features Comparison

Xiaomi¡¯s sub-brand POCO has launched its second smartphone in India as the POCO X2. This time, instead of going for OnePlus as its competition, POCO has targeted a more budget-friendly category. Hence, the new POCO X2 has been priced at Rs 15,999 for the starting variant.

Just to be clear, the X2 does not come as a successor to the POCO F1. With the X2, the company is eyeing a completely different class to cater to. Pitting it against the likes of Realme X2, POCO talked at length about the smartphone¡¯s superiority over its competition. But is it really that good?

A look at the specifications of some smartphones in that budget can answer that better. So here we compare the POCO X2 with Redmi K20, Samsung Galaxy M40 and Nokia 7.2 based on what they offer on papers. Read on to find out which one wins.

Poco X2

Display

Amongst the four smartphones, POCO X2 boasts of the largest display as well as the highest resolution. While its screen measures at 6.67-inch, the resolution promised is 2400x1080 pixels.

Following close is the Redmi K20¡¯s 6.39-inch AMOLED display that offers a 2340x1080 pixels resolution. For the Galaxy M40, the resolution remains the same but the screen size drops marginally to 6.3 inches, that is the same as that of the IPS LCD display of the Nokia 7.2.

As for the protection on these smartphones, the POCO X2 and Redmi K20 both appoint a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 while the Nokia 7.2 and Galaxy M40 stick to Gorilla Glass 3.

Processor

POCO X2 trumps the competition here too but only marginally. While both the X2 and the Redmi K20 use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor, the X2 appoints a G variant that also offers liquid thermal cooling for better prolonged performance.

Nokia 7.2, on the other hand, is backed by a Snapdragon 660 SoC while the Galaxy M40 bumps it up slightly to Snapdragon 675.

Battery

A crucial element of a smartphone experience is its battery life and surprisingly enough, the X2 makes sure that it pits the others here too. Samsung and Nokia felt a 3500 mAh battery to be enough on their smartphones when they were launched last year. Xiaomi bumped it to 4000 mAh on the Redmi K20 and now, the X2 is the segment leader in this category with a mammoth 4500 mAh battery that also supports 27W fast charging.

Primary Camera

By now we have a fair enough idea that POCO has aimed to provide the best with the X2. A look at the camera configurations of these four smartphones clears the same. Selfie Camera

A similar story is observed with the selfie camera too, as the POCO X2 is the only one in this comparison list that comes with a dual-lens selfie camera (20MP+2MP) at the front. Interestingly, this setup is embedded in a punch-hole on the screen, a trait similar to the Galaxy M40¡¯s 16MP selfie shooter. While the Redmi K20 uses a pop-up selfie camera for its 20MP front camera, the Nokia 7.2 comes with a 20MP water drop selfie shooter.

Storage

POCO X2 and Redmi K20 offer three different storage options ranging from a 6GB RAM and 64GB storage to an 8GB RAM AND 256GB storage as the top variant. The Nokia 7.2 also has three options between 4GB to 6GB RAM and 64 to 128GB storage. The Galaxy M40 comes in two options - 4GB RAM + 64GB and 6GB RAM + 128GB.

Down to the most important part. Having been launched months earlier, all the three contenders to the POCO X2 have experienced a price drop since their launch. With that, they are being available at the prices mentioned in the table below.

POCO X2 has been conveniently priced in the middle, starting at Rs 15,999 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant and can easily be seen as a tough choice to beat in the Indian market now that its out.
