Robot Bartender At Beijing Winter Olympics Prepares Drinks In 90 Seconds

To keep human contact at the 2022 Winter Olympics at bay, organisers are using a robot bartender. Situated at the games' media centre in Beijing, the robot bartender can prepare a drink in less than 90 seconds.

If this is true, perhaps we should try out the same in each bar? South China Morning Post first reported that the bartender can mix and serve cocktails in less than 90 seconds and guests can order a drink through their phone.

What's the rationale? Besides the quick speed and delivery, organisers want to minimise the risk of spreading Covid-19 at the 2022 Winter Olympics. That's not all! Besides mixing drinks, robots are also serving food at restaurants for athletes during the Winter Olympics.

For journalists and guests who don't drink alcohol, the robot bartender can serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. A Reuters video showed how the robot operates - sitting behind a classic circular bar below dozens of bottles hanging from the ceiling.

Have you ever went through the pain of ordering a vodka mix and having to drink whiskey because your human server messed up? This robot has no room for mistakes, even though it kills the spirit of a barkeep conversation.

Human bartenders are also present at the spot to ensure the robot does its job as intended and to help it out during crowded hours.

These are a part of China's efforts to prevent another Covid-19 outbreak in the country, especially during the Winter Olympic Games that are set to take place in Beijing from February 4, 2022 to February 20, 2022.
