Snapchat's New 'Pixy' Drone Is A Tiny Flying Photographer That Follows You Around
Every video captured through Pixy will be sent directly to Snapchat Memories, where users would then be able to edit them as needed. Once processed, the media may be shared via Chat, Stories, Spotlight, and may even be posted on other apps
Snap's tiny new "Pixy" drone is created for people who love getting pictures clicked without the hassle. The mini drone is a personal photographer that follows you around to take pictures.
After launching Snapchat Spectacles, the parent company of Snapchat is trying its hand on another hardware element. The Pixy costs about $250 (?19,153) and was first displayed at Snap Summit where the company announced a series of plans for Snapchat's future.
In a press note, Snapchat described Pixy as a "pocket-sized, free-flying sidekick that's a fit for adventures big and small."
What makes Snapchat's Pixy so different?
Unlike most drones currently available in the market, the Pixy does not require a controller device. It comes loaded with four preset flight patterns. To make it move, users can simply press a button - allowing it to float, orbit, or to follow you for pics. When your time with Pixy comes to an end, it will come and sit on your hand, apparently.

The tiny Pixy drone comes with a 12 megapixel sensor and 16 GB of storage that can hold 100 videos or 1,000 pictures.
Pixy comes with a single battery. For additional batteries, users are expected to shell out $19.99 each (?1,500). A full charge on Pixy will give users five to eight flights - each of which could be 10-20 seconds long.
