When Apple announced a slew of new OTT services earlier this week, including a credit card, original TV content, and tailored news, the reception was pretty much split down the middle.
But one person certainly not a fan was investment hotshot Warren Buffett.
Buffett offered a somewhat lukewarm response to the announcements, saying Apple was making a risky investment, given that going up against established streaming giants like Netflix is "not an easy game to predict".
"You have very smart people with lots of resources trying to figure out how to grab another half hour of your time," he said. "I wouldn't want to play in that game myself."
His comments came as part of an interview with CNBC's Becky Quick. However, Buffett doesn't seem to be completely writing off Apple's streaming subscription service, merely indicated he himself would have hesitated. "Apple-I'd love to see them succeed. That's a company that can afford a mistake or two. You don't want to buy stock in a company that has to do everything right," Buffett said.
"You're going to make mistakes but you don't want to make them with too big a portion of your capital. Apple should do some things that don't work."
