Story Of Nino: India's 1st Educational Robot Built For The Classroom To Make Studying More Fun
Robots are pretty much an ingrained part of society now. We use them to automate factory floors, carry out hazardous tasks like bomb disposal and nuclear reactor repairs, and much more. But we still don¡¯t see robots as an integral part of our lives.
Robots are pretty much an ingrained part of society now. We use them to automate factory floors, carry out hazardous tasks like bomb disposal and nuclear reactor repairs, and much more.
But we still don't see robots as an integral part of our lives per se. But that may change very soon.

Take Nino for instance, a product of Sirena Technologies in Bangalore. It's a humanoid robot, similar in physical design to some we've seen out of Japan before, but it's got a few cool additions. Aside from the standard servos, actuators, processors, and stuff, it's also packing Sirena's own artificial intelligence system.
Nino isn't just a playtime companion (with some admittedly slick moves). Sirena Technologies is also using him to teach kids in schools and colleges, under their SKIP program. Yes, Nino is India's very 1st educational robot that's trying to make learning more fun for students of all ages.
In schools, Nino is a teaching aid to help younger kids learn logical and linguistic skills. At higher grades and in college programs, (along with their other robots) it's a way for students to play around with engineering and mechanical projects.
More immediately exciting though, Nino can also help out around the house. He can control your IoT gadgets around the home on your command, and even learns your patterns over time.
But don't just take out word for it. Check it out for yourself as we sit down with Nino's creators in this episode of The Tech Probe.
