An Elden Ring movie adaptation is officially in the works at A24, an American independent entertainment company that primarily focuses on films and television production. Alex Garland to direct the live-action film adaptation

Garland, who recently wrote and directed 'Warfare' for A24, is set to write the upcoming feature, which is based on the mythological story by George R. R. Martin.

Well, there were rumours that Garland had been attached to the project earlier also. Now, Garland is at a peak moment of his career; his latest film, Warfare, was a collaboration with former Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza and performed great at the box office, surpassing $32 million.

Elden Ring was developed by FromSoftware and was released in February 2022 and becoming a gaming phenomenon, earning universal acclaim for its open-world, immersive, and grim storytelling gameplay.

Originally, the role-playing action video game was directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, with Yui Tanimura, who co-directed it. The game was set in an authentic dark fantasy world, along with swathed environments and grim dungeons.

"It's good pedigree and I like Garland but it really feels like a Denis Villeneuve or bust situation given how inscrutable and esoteric the source material is."
