This Police Horse Refuses to Start His Day Without A Cup Of Tea & We Feel Him!
Jake is a 20-year-old horse who has been with the Merseyside Police UK for the last 15 years and has a thing for sugary tea. He waits in his stable in Allerton Liverpool for his special big mug to be brought to him every day and he sticks his tongue in the cup slurping up the tea.
A lot of people cannot function without their morning tea. It is their drug, no kidding. But tea or coffee don't just give humans the energy they need, but also horses, or at least one police horse.

Merseyside Police Mounted Section have been including Jake in their tea round since the time they found out that he needs tea to start his day, just like them. He actually refuses to start his day without the tea.
Jake waits in his stable in Allerton, Liverpool, for his special big mug to be brought to him every day, and he sticks his tongue in the rider¡¯s cup, slurping up the tea.
Jake also has his preference, he takes his tea with skimmed milk, two heaped teaspoons of sugar and a little cold water.

¡°Jake is one of twelve horses we've got at the stable working with us. I'd definitely describe Jake as a horse with a lot of character. We've all learnt his tea order - he'll deal with one sugar, but is definitely happier when you remember to give him two,¡± Daily Mail quoted Merseyside Police Mounted Section manager and trainer Lindsey Gaven as saying.
She further said, ¡°If you're at the side of the stable and he sees you with a mug in your hand, you can guarantee he'll trot on over to try and steal a slurp.¡±

Jake is often found policing football matches and has worked several times as a police horse at Aintree Racecourse overseeing the annual Grand National.
Jake is 20 now, and is due to retire from the force next year. Hope the force takes care of his tea needs after his retirement too.
