Our beloved pets like dogs and cats do all kinds of adorable things that make us fall in love with them even more. However, they sometimes end up doing things that put them in trouble.
Like this poor cat, who goes by the name Felix, got stuck in a washing machine last week.
As terrifying as it sounds, the cat survived a full 35-minute cycle. Miraculous is the word for it.
Felix was then taken to the vet at Animal Emergency and Referral Center of Minnesota immediately after he was found. The incident temporarily took away the cat¡¯s vision and he got pneumonia because of the water that went into his lungs.
The owner, Stefani Carroll-Kirchoff, has three cats and she says she is always careful of the fact that none of her cats are in the washer or dryer when she is doing her laundry. However, it was only unfortunate that Felix got inside the washer and she didn¡¯t notice.
Nevertheless, the cat is now breathing and is in a much better condition. He got his vision back and is now eating properly, but is still on oxygen to make sure he is fine before he can play normally again. The owner¡¯s daughter Carroll McCullough started a GOFundMe in order to help with medical costs.
The owner Carroll Kirchoff felt very guilty and said she will never forgive herself for putting Felix in such a condition. Seeing your pets in trouble is one of the worst sights, right?
¡°It¡¯s horrific. It¡¯s absolutely horrific,¡± she added.
Carroll-Kirchoff said she hasn't been able to sleep since the incident. ¡°This will haunt me for the rest of my life,¡± she said. ¡°It¡¯s the most traumatic experience.¡±
Carroll-Kirchoff has been a cat owner for almost 11 years now and also works at a pet grooming salon. She also volunteer at a wildlife rehabilitation center in her free time. She also added that after this incident, she has got more reasons to fight harder for animals and their well-being because they are little fragile beings that needs constant care and and loads of love to say the least.
She says, "It's given me a reason to fight harder for animals and their well-being," she said.
¡°She was crying so hard I couldn¡¯t understand what she was saying and she said Felix went through the washing machine,¡± her daughter said.
Vets are now expecting a full recovery when it comes to Felix and the world is better again.
