Gunther to take on Pat McAfee at WWE Backlash? All we know
Gunther attacked Pat McAfee on the latest episode of WWE Raw after the punter tried to come to Michael Cole¡¯s aid. This may have set the stage for a match between McAfee and ¡®The Ring General¡¯ at Backlash.

WrestleMania 41 did not go as planned for Gunther. The Austrian lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Jey Uso in the opening bout of ¡®Night 1¡¯. Now, it appears that he has moved on from that feud. Gunther did not interrupt Jey Uso¡¯s celebrations on Raw. He, however, confronted Michael Cole shortly thereafter and assaulted Pat McAfee when the punter tried to save his colleague. This may have set the stage for Gunther¡¯s next feud.
Gunther to face Pat McAfee at WWE Backlash?
Gunther is unlikely to get a rematch against Jey Uso for his World Heavyweight Championship as ¡®The Ring General is apparently set to feud with Pat McAfee. The WWE may have planted the seeds for this rivalry earlier this week on Raw when Gunther choked out the punter when he tried to stop him from destroying Michael Cole.
Following this, McAfee received ¡®medical attention¡¯ while Cole criticised Gunther for not letting announcers do their job. This sequence of events suggests that the stage is set for Pat McAfee to step back into the ring again. In fact, the match may take place as early as WWE Backlash next month. The 37-year-old is no stranger to in-ring action. He beat The Miz at WrestleMania 39 in his last singles match. Prior to this, he also feuded with NXT¡¯s Adam Cole. The given situation is purely hypothetical right now but can¡¯t be ruled out.
What happened to Gunther at WrestleMania 41
Gunther squared off against Jey Uso in the first match of WrestleMania 41 and dominated him at certain points. The ¡®Yeet Master¡¯, however, eventually turned the tables and locked him in a sleeper hold after hitting him with multiple splashes. Gunther soon tapped out and Jey Uso emerged as the new champion.
