Watch: ITBP Constable Pays Heartfelt Tribute To Bappi Lahiri By Singing His Song Chirodini Tumi Je Aamar
A video of an ITBP personnel singing one of Bappi Lahiri¡¯s superhit tracks has grabbed the attention of netizens.
Veteran singer and music composer Bappi Lahiri's passing away in Mumbai at the age of 69 came as a shock to many. The man was known for his love for gold and was known as the Gold Man of India.
He made disco music popular in the country in the '80s and '90s and breathed his last at Mumbai's CritiCare Hospital after being treated for multiple ailments.
Dr Deepak Namjoshi, director of the hospital, told PTI, "Lahiri had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called for a doctor to visit their home. He was brought to the hospital. He had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight".
The singer's sudden death prompted many fans to pay their tribute and respect to the legendary personality on social media. Among the many fans, there is an ITBP constable who paid his last respects by singing one of his famous songs.
The official Twitter handle of ITBP shared the video of the constable singing on their profile. In the video, constable Sovan Banerjee can be seen singing Dil Mein Ho Tum from the 1987 movie Satyameva Jayate. As the clip goes on, Banerjee also sings the original Bengali version of the song - Chirodini Tumi Je Aamar - composed by Bappi Lahiri.

The 4-minute long video has already grabbed attention and has over 800 views in just two hours. While some were mesmerised by Banerjee¡¯s talent, others paid their tributes to the legendary singer.

The song Chirodini Tumi Je Amar is from the movie Amar Sangi. The melodious track was sung by Kishore Kumar and featured Prosenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta. It has remained one of Bappi Lahiri's superhit tracks.
Bappi Lahiri has sung some incredible hits during his time. He is known for popular songs like Bambai Se Aaya Mera Dost, Yaar Bina Chain Kahan Re, Raat Baaki Baat Baaki and Yaad Aa Raha Hai. He even made ripples in Hollywood. His iconic song Jimmy Jimmy Aaja Aaja from Mithun Chakraborty starrer 1982 hit Disco Dancer has featured in 2008 Hollywood film You Don't Mess with the Zohan.
He had last appeared on Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 15 to promote his grandson Swastik's new song Baccha Party.
