Couple Gets Married Next To Daughter's Bed In Hospital Just So That She Could Be A Part Of It
Karim and Louise Rezaie got married in hospital in the presence of their six-month-old daughter who was diagnosed with a rare illness.
Marriage is one of the most amazing experiences in one's life. A celebration of two people coming together to spend the rest of their lives together and support each other in their good and bad times.
A union which is celebrated with one's near and dear ones. This is a union where you want your loved ones to cherish the entire experience with you and a couple made sure that it does happen no matter what.
Karim Rezaie who is a 38-years old psychological therapist and Louise Rezaie who is a 30-year-old psychological wellbeing practitioner had always thought that whenever they decide to make their union official by getting married, their six month old daughter Layla would have to be in attendance.
However, Layla has a rare illness due to which she was hospitalised. This also made it impossible for her to leave the hospital and attend the big event.
So, the couple decided to bring their big event to the hospital and got married on May 21st at Bristol Children¡¯s Hospital, right by the side of Layla¡¯s bed.
About this special event, Karim told Metro.co.uk, "We¡¯d always wanted to get married with Layla our daughter there. It was obviously beautiful with the amount of effort they put in. A huge tremendous effort was put in by the playmate workers into arranging decorations and music, getting in touch with our relatives, and getting videos recorded for people who could be there."
The couple wanted Layla to be the bridesmaid at their wedding. But Layla, who was born on Christmas day has had CHARGE syndrome, a genetic mutation that affects her eating, vision, and heart, and causes other complications. This meant that child has been a patient at the hospital for all of her life so far.
However, her parents didn't let her illness come in-between this special day and made sure that Layla could dress up and be a part of this wedding.
Layla watched as her parents took their vows. She was dressed in a pink dress with a matching ribbon. Her hospital room was decorated with balloons and pictures of the family. There was also a big wedding cake on the table.
Karim said, "Layla was there, and it was fantastic but we were reminded how poorly she was but it was still great for it to happen."
However, the doctors have still not confirmed when will Layla be ready to go home so her parents are hoping for the best.
