In his recent run as Chennai Super Kings¡¯ captain in the IPL championship, Dhoni won every cricket fanatic's heart. A month after his legendary win at the tournament, Dhoni is once again going viral, but for reasons far more intriguing than a cricket match.
A Twitter user amused people on the internet when he shared a thread of Dhoni¡¯s unusual acting attempts, which, I might add, were exceptionally entertaining. The user shared some of MSD¡¯s appearances on ads for television.
Not only did these advertisements shock those who were too young to have witnessed them back in the day, but they also pushed Dhoni to stand on the same platform as film legends like Shah Rukh Khan and Rajnikanth.
Dhoni Did Several Ads For Pepsi In Which He Stretched His Boundaries As An Actor
In one ad for Pepsi, Dhoni took on the persona of the Thalaiva and acted in similar tones as the famous South Indian actor Rajnikanth. In the advertisement, Dhoni spun around his bat as if it weighed nothing. He had a moustache much like Ranjnikanth's and wore what locals in south India are often seen sporting, a checkered lungi. To add the finishing touches, Dhoni also donned a pair of sunglasses to up his swagger.

In another ad, Dhoni was filmed with Shah Rukh Khan. The storyline of the ad made it so that SRK and Dhoni switched their lives with each other as Khan played the role of a successful cricket player and Dhoni became the shining star in Bollywood.

Then there was an ad for Pepsi where people imagined how Dhoni came up with his famous ¡°helicopter shot¡± on the field. In yet another ad for the brand, Dhoni transformed into somewhat of a detective as he inspected the cricket pitch. All his ads in the thread only made people online realise how big of a legend the player really is, even outside of the field he is so used to.
