Divers In Argentina Steal 700 Litres Of Beer 'Left To Age' Inside A Sunken Ship
Divers pulled off an underwater booze heist by stealing 1,000 pints of beer that were left to age in the wreckage of a sunken ship off the coast of Argentina.
Divers who went underwater ended up stealing a coveted collection of hidden-away beer bottles off the Argentinian coast.
According to an Irish Times report, a team of divers in Argentina stole 700 litres, or 185 gallons, of artisanal beer that had been left by three local Argentinian breweries to age.
A Mail Online report states, that the local breweries had stashed the limited-edition beer in the remains of a scuttled fishing vessel three miles off the South American coast last November.

The stolen booze belonged to three local breweries - Heller, La Paloma and Baum - which had recruited divers to bury their beer late last year.
But the theft of the limited-edition beer has left the owners heartbroken. Speaking to Irish Times, Carlos Brelles, who runs the Thalassa Diving School in Mar del Plata, said that as soon as he learned of the theft, he started crying.
Reports state that Eduardo Ricardo, one of the owners of Heller Brewery, implemented the idea after hearing about similar projects elsewhere, although none were at this depth. The beer after being taken off the seabed, was intended to be blended with another drink before being bottled up and sold.

'The dreams of brewing beer at the bottom of the ocean have gone. They didn't only steal the barrels, they stole the hopes of businessmen and wage-earners who have not had a good year,' said a diver named Carlos Brelles, 52, who owns the Thalassa Diving School.
The brewery owners asked prosecutors to open a criminal investigation into this theft that has destroyed what could have been a one of its kind alcoholic drink.
