Good Samaritans Carry Pregnant Woman To Hospital On Stretcher For 7km In Knee-Deep Snow In J&K

The worst hit are the residents who live in remote areas and depend on the roads for connectivity. Heavy snow has left roads blocked in most places, which means access to places like hospitals is not easy.
Recently in north Kashmir, a pregnant woman had to be carried to a hospital because an ambulance could not get to her due to blocked roads.

In the that has now gone viral on social media, youngsters can be seen carrying the pregnant lady all the way to the hospital on their shoulders.
According to reports, locals were forced to take this desperate measure since the road to the hospital had not been cleared of snow.

Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, Block Medical Officer, Primary Heath Centre Sheeri, told Greater Kashmir, ¡°Due to the heavy snowfall and no road connectivity we could not send ambulance to the exact location. However, the patient was received midway and is absolutely fine.¡±
An ambulance that was sent for the woman could only go as far as the nearby Audora village and the road after that area was completely blocked.

Reports state that the woman was later referred to the district hospital in Baramulla and she and her newborn are doing great.
