Nowhere have the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) been deadlier than in Uttar Pradesh. During the protests, a policeman in Uttar Pradesh¡¯s Firozabad district was rescued by a man after he was surrounded and beaten by an angry mob, last week.
Ajay Kumar, the policeman, had several injuries on his head and hand after he was beaten by the violent mob during the protest on December 20 in the district.
But thanks to a local man Hajji Qadir who came to his rescue, he made it out okay. Qadir reportedly took Kumar home and later dropped him at the police station after the situation seemed to be under control.

"Hajji Qadir Sahab took me to his home. I had injuries on one of my fingers and head. He gave me water and his clothes to wear and assured me that I will be safe. He took me to the police station later," Kumar told ANI. "He came like an angel in my life. Had it not been for him, I would have been killed," he added.
Recalling the incident, Qadir said that he was offering namaz when he was told that a policeman was surrounded by the mob. "He was severely injured, I assured him that I will save him. I didn't know his name at the time. What I did was for humanity," Qadir told ANI.

In another incident of communal harmony, what stood out at the protests that took place in Jamia Millia Islamia were the good Samaritans who made a human chain around their Muslim brothers as they offered Namaz outside the gates. To see this happen at a place where protests were happening was something really special. The video of the incident went viral on social media.
