Russia Invasion: Indian Students Stuck In Ukraine Ask For Help From Government, Say They Have Nowhere To Go
Indian students who are stuck in Ukraine plea to the government to take them to a safe place. Say that they are stuck and the Indian embassy doesn't respond.
Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine in a televised address on Thursday. He mentioned that the military action announced by him will seek to "demilitarize" Ukraine and came in response to threats from Ukraine.
This obviously created an environment of panic and chaos where several Indian students rushed to the Kyiv Airport and railway stations so that they can reach back to India.
However, after reaching the airport, students came to know that Air India flights that were supposed to head to India from Ukraine have already left the premises following the Ukraine officials closing the airspace.
Now, a video has come all the way from Ukraine where students who are stranded at the railway station are pleading with the government to help them. In a clip that is going viral, several Indian students who are stuck at the Kyiv railway station are talking about the problems they are facing.
One student says how all the students are from different universities and different states of India. They are trying to call the Indian embassy to help them get out of Ukraine but nobody is picking up their call or responding to them.
Another student added that the Indian embassy in Ukraine has been apparently asked to leave the country. There are no cabs, no buses or any means of transportation that are available leaving them stranded. Hum jaaye toh kahan jaaye( where do we go from here)
They are pleading with the embassy to shift them to a safe place at the moment even if going to India can't be arranged immediately.
