In most Indian states, temperatures in the first week of June have steadily soared, with many places experiencing terrible heatwave conditions. Temperatures have been rising about 40 degrees Celcius in most cities, and exceeding 45 degrees in some of the worst-affected states.
And in these horrible conditions it's hard to ignore the plight of delivery boys working with companies like Zomato and Swiggy. The delivery boys are more often than not pressed for time.
They cut through traffic, locate residences and make sure the food reaches your doorstep on time, and all of this while braving the intense heat.
Humans may be 70% water, but can definitely be 100% nice ? pic.twitter.com/GiFxq4zLBr

In such a scenario it's only human to offer them a glass of water when they get to you, and Zomato nailed this initiative.
A recent advertisement by the food delivery giant urged people to offer water for their executives. This move touched a chord with people across the country.
I do that all the time and have asked everyone in my home to do the same.

¡°A little bit of goodness won¡¯t do much against the heat wave, but it¡¯ll surely help them in this weather,¡± states Zomato in an official tweet.
It also calls for humans who are 70% made of water, to be 100% nice.
Shashi Tharoor was so moved by this that he ordered food just so he could give a delivery executive a glass of water.
"Today, I ordered from zomato and I wasnt even hungry. Ordered just so that I can offer some water to a delivery guy. Nd once he arrived, I just took a Glass of water nd drank half before giving it to him. He drank nd smiled back saying "Bhaiyya, aap bhi Zomato me thei kya pehle," wrote Tharoor.
Some gave alternative suggestions to help the delivery boys and many others pressed on the issue of giving them a pay raise.
While this is nice and all please ensure that a. Your workers are well paid and not overworked in this heat.

b. Have cool water tanks in all your partner restaurants so they can easily get water from there.
c. Maybe not deliver for some time (2-3) when the sun is at it's peak.

May be you can also provide a 1 litre Milton / Cello/ Borosil water bottle that keeps the water cold for 12 hours to every delivery person and they can get it refilled every 2-3 hours from customers ?
Giving delivery persons their due salaries, offering them health insurances and the legitimate number of holidays will also make your company nice!

Zomato has won hearts for some unique steps taken by them to make their work environment more inclusive.
The food-delivery app on June 3, made changes to its parental leave policies. For women across the 13 countries it has presence, Zomato will be offering 26 weeks paid leave, or will follow the government mandated policy.
In a landmark move, the 26-week leaves will be extended to men as well.
¡°One core issue that leads to fewer women leaders in organisations, the community, and the nation is the lack of universal paid parental leave. Currently, it is hard for women to lead a healthy family life and focus on their careers, leading to a lot of women leaving their jobs or putting their careers on the back burner. This results in a pressing lack of diversity across all levels of the organisation, and needs to be solved proactively,¡± Deepinder Goyal, founder of Zomato said in a blogpost.
They also earned praise for hiring a specially-abled man for food delivery. The man named Ramu recently rose to fame online after he was spotted delivering food to Zomato customers in a hand-operated tricycle.

The inspirational video quickly became viral and many came forward to help him and online petitioners who suggested that Ramu should be gifted an electric vehicle to make things easier for him, through a crowdfunding platform.
