GT dominated the match, with Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj picking up two wickets each, while Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore and Kagiso Rabada chipped in with one wicket each. GT had requested a black soil pitch, and they made full use of it, outplaying MI convincingly.

However, they also dragged Chennai Super Kings (CSK) into the discussion, as both five-time champions lost their matches¡ªMI to GT and CSK to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Interestingly, both MI and CSK were chasing an identical target of 197 but failed to reach it.

For GT, Sai Sudharsan's 63 off 41 balls powered them to 196/8, with valuable contributions from Shubman Gill (38) and Jos Buttler (39). MI skipper Hardik Pandya, returning to action against his former team, took two wickets but couldn¡¯t stop MI¡¯s collapse.
In the chase, Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj starred with two-wicket hauls. Siraj removed Rohit Sharma (8) and Ryan Rickelton (6) early, putting MI on the back foot. Tilak Varma (39 off 36) and Suryakumar Yadav (48 off 28) tried to revive the innings but fell short. Kagiso Rabada delivered the final blow, dismissing Hardik Pandya (11) in the 17th over, sealing MI's fate.
