Andhra Pradesh: Puja Performed At Police Station To 'Ward Off Crime'
The personnel on the station have been anxious for a while after they may not carry out the ¡®Ayudha Puja¡¯ final 12 months.
The policemen of Allagada town in the Kurnool district are extremely concerned about the rise in crime rates and ominous activities within the city and nearby areas.
So, to ward off evil in the city, the policemen of this town organised a ¡®peace prayer¡¯ at the town police station. The policemen of the city and nearby places conduct Ayudha Pujas for peace and hassle-free work which is basically prayers for their weapons and arms. However, they didn't perform the same in the past 12 months and felt that was the reason for all the mishaps taking place in their town.
According to Times Of India, there was a rise in several incidents. A constable on night duty was bitten by a snake in the police station. Last week two girls were kidnapped and cases of road accidents were reported. A man near Padakandla attacked and injured people. Political rivalry related cases were also on the rise under the police station¡¯s jurisdiction.
The snake-biting incident has not only been keeping the officers on their toes but had made them fearful of entering their station at Allagadda. So, on the advice of acquaintances, a well-known priest was called to the station and blessed the arms and weapons of every police official serving at the premises by chanting mantras to prevail in peace.
After taking part in this puja, the police officials felt confident that the evil and bad omen will vanish in time.
