Dog Repeatedly Runs Off From Home, Waits Outside Hospital For Days To Meet Her Sick Owner
Aynur Egeli, Senturk¡¯s daughter, said she would take Boncuk home, but the dog would run off repeatedly and return to the hospital.
Dogs are considered man¡¯s most loyal companions, and for a very valid reason. In northern Turkey, a devoted Dog spent days waiting outside a hospital where her ill owner was seeking care.
On January 14, the doggo, Boncuk (Bon-DJUK) - meaning bead - followed the ambulance that carried her owner, Cemal Senturk, to the hospital in the Black Sea town of Trabzon. She then made regular visits to the facility on Wednesday, DHA, the private news agency, said.

Hospital security guard Muhammet Akdeniz told DHA, ¡°She comes every day around 9 a.m. and waits until nightfall. She doesn¡¯t go in. When the door opens she pokes her head inside.¡±
Boncuk was eventually reunited with Senturk when he was driven outside for a short meeting with his dog in a wheelchair.
¡°She¡¯s very used to me. And I miss her, too, constantly,¡± he told DHA.

Later on Wednesday, Senturk was discharged from the hospital and returned home with Boncuk.
Last year, the world fell in love with another dog who could be seen missing her owner. A loyal German Shepherd, Leia, was seen waiting by the door for her dad to come home from the hospital.
Thankfully, her dad returned to her and the wait wasn¡¯t gone too long. Katie Snyder sent her dog Leia to live with her dad in April, ¡°Leia is not your typical cuddly dog,¡± Snyder told The Dodo. ¡°She¡¯s very independent and laid-back.¡±
¡°Leia loves all of her humans in her own way,¡± she added. ¡°Whether it be by laying near you during movie night or sitting outside of the bathroom door waiting for you to finish.¡±

When Katie's parents were celebrating their 40th anniversary, her father suddenly fell ill and had to be rushed to the hospital. Due to the coronavirus restrictions, her father had to stay in the hospital overnight.
When Katie's mother got back home from the hospital, she noticed Leia waiting by the door for her dad to come home, with her head bowed.
Snyder¡¯s mom snapped a photo of the heartbroken dog and texted it to her daughter: ¡°When she sent me that picture, I immediately burst into tears. It absolutely killed me,¡± Snyder said. ¡°I was able to see how much [Leia] truly loved my dad and that she was missing him."
Realising how close the two were, Katie left Leia with her dad.
