There¡¯s something interesting about a rocket launch. The exhilarating power, the visuals, the noise and the pride one feels is just unmatched. For most of us though its limited to watching ISRO launch PSLV and GSLV rockets on the live telecast. Those looking to get close, there¡¯s a site 5 km away from SHAR (Sriharikota Range) that enthusiasts usually flock to. But it¡¯s just a spot on the beach and there¡¯s no sign marking the spot.
Now though, there¡¯s some good news for those wanting to experience the launch of ISRO rockets up close. The space agency is developing a Launch View Gallery that will allow interested citizens in getting to feel the rush of a powerful rocket lifting up into the sky. ISRO says that the upcoming facility will allow thousands to witness the launches.

Apart from the gallery, a Rocket Garden with 1:1 scale models of ISRO¡¯s old sounding rockets, ASLV, PSLV and GSLV launch vehicles. Lawns for the garden are being developed along the photo points.
Additionally a Space Museum is being built. The museum will tell the story of India¡¯s space programme from its infancy and will have six sections ¨C history, education, technology, applications, global and future. Something along the lines of Smithsonian Air and Space museum in the US.
