'Thank You Indian Railways For Iftar': Meal Served Onboard Shatabdi Train Gets Praise From Travellers
"Thank you Indian Railways for the Iftar. As soon as I boarded Howrah Shatabdi at Dhanbad, I got my snacks. I requested the pantry man to bring tea little late as I am fasting. He confirmed by asking, aap roza hai? I nodded in yes. Later someone else came with Iftar (sic)," tweeted Shahnawaz Akhtar sharing a photo of his meal.
Communal harmony is this country's dream, and the Indian Railways is helping people get there. A traveller shared details of how he had been served Iftar onboard a Shatabdi train.

Muslims around the world are observing Ramzan. This time is considered to be holy for Muslims while fasting and to get together for a meal with family and friends. Iftar is the nightly feast that marks the breaking of the fast.
The post has since received praise from MoS for Railways, Darshana Jardosh and other people on the internet.
The whole of Indian Railways family is touched by your comments and hope you had a good meal.

This is a perfect example of how the government led by PM Modi works with the motto of Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas. Jai Hind ?? https://t.co/gZE5L6Vi1e
This is not the first time that the Indian Railways has made food concessions to take various festivals and events into account. Earlier in April, the Railway Ministry had tweeted a video to explain that devotees observing a fast for Navratri were being given "pure and sattvik food" during their journey.
In the past few years, the availability of Iftar has also been shared on Twitter by other social media users.
"Great gesture by Indian Railways for serving Iftar along with General menu food in 12020 Ranchi Howrah Satabdi. The co-passenger (a Muslim girl keeping Roza) was in awe and me super-delighted to see her emotions (sic)," read a 2019 tweet along similar lines.
