In A Bid To Aid India's Fight Against COVID-19, JK Rowling Donates 'Six-Figure' Amount To Khalsa Aid
Khalsa Aid tweeted the news on Thursday and mentioned that the Harry Potter creator donated a six-figure grant.
Amid India's battle against the severe second wave of COVID-19, UK-based international humanitarian relief organisation, Khalsa Aid, has been working on the ground providing free emergency medical services to patients.
While the government has been struggling to provide adequate medical supplies, Khalsa Aid has directly brought resources to the front lines, donated proceeds and supplies or helped prioritise vulnerable patients.

Over the last few weeks, Khalsa Aid has asked people to donate to its organisation so that they can procure more medical equipment like oxygen concentrators for struggling hospitals in India. Their efforts have now received a shot in the arm after it was revealed that author JK Rowling has made a generous donation to aid the organisation's fight against COVID-19 in India.
Khalsa Aid tweeted the news on Thursday and mentioned that the Harry Potter creator donated a six-figure amount. According to Sikh24, the grant was given as part of The Volant Charitable Trust¡¯s Covid-19 Response Fund which has donated money to various international charities.

JK Rowling also took to Twitter to reply to Khalsa Aid¡¯s tweet. The British author expressed gratitude to everyone who bought a copy of her latest children¡¯s book 'The Ickabog.' She wrote that it was because of the sales of her book that her charitable trust continues to be able to support those who are worst affected by the pandemic.
