Men Openly Smoke Inside Train Compartment, Railways' Response Divides The Internet
A passenger took to Twitter to complain about youths smoking in front of children and senior citizens on a moving train.
Smoking is not exactly a habit to be encouraged and that is why it is prohibited in many places, including trains. It is often a punishable offence to smoke in public but varies from location to location.
As a matter of fact, Section 167 of the Railways Act makes it illegal to smoke or drink inside trains or on railway property. Despite the law, some people continue to smoke while travelling by train.

A passenger took to Twitter to complain about the youths smoking in front of children and senior citizens on a moving train. In his tweet, the user tagged IRCTC and the Ministry of Railways and shared the train number, coach number and seat numbers of the two men he filmed smoking.
On Sunday, Twitter user Manish Jain (@jainmanish0906) shared a photo and video of two people smoking inside a train. Jain tagged the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation and the Ministry of Railways in his post and wrote that the two seen smoking abused those who asked them not to smoke in front of senior citizens and children.
The video shows two men smoking while sitting on the lower berth across from the person who shot the video. Railway Seva, the official Twitter account for rail users, responded to the Tweet by asking the uploader to share the details of his journey as well as his phone number.
It also advised him to report the problem to railmadad.indianrailways.gov.in or dial 139 for prompt resolution.

Bandikui Junction railway station is a major railway station in Rajasthan's Dausa district. The man's complaint tweet was captioned: "@IRCTCofficial @RailMinIndia Passengers Lighting Cigarettes in front of Kids & Senior Citizen and abusing when all are stopping them., Train No 14322 Coach S-5 Seat Number¡¯s 39-40.
