If you are a Bombay local or have spent even a short period of time there, you are probably already familiar with the city's famous "vada pav". Buttery soft pav buns sandwiched between crispy Aloo Bonda and spicy and flavourful chutneys make for a delectable street food snack.
This dish can be enjoyed at any time of day, including breakfast, lunch, and high tea. A Mumbai-based influencer recently referred to the snack as "trash," which disappointed many internet users.
Who is the influencer who thinks Vada Pav is 'trash'?
Sakshi Shivdasani, an Instagram content producer with over four lakh followers, appeared on the show 'Having Said That'. "Vada Pav is rubbish. I despise Vada Pav from the bottom of my heart," she declared.
Why does she hate vada pav?
She explained why, saying, "There's no way you think boiled potatoes and bread makes sense." The show's host mentioned that potatoes are cooked, fried, and served on a pav. Finally, chutney is added. The influencer then stated that chutney is not "unique" to the food.
The show's hosts debate the snack, discussing its price value and "vibes". Shivdasani concluded by saying that she believes Samosa Pav is better than Vada Pav.
