Ola Electric Scooter Catches Fire In Pune, Probe Underway
Ola Electric, in a statement, said they are aware of an incident in Pune and are investigating to understand the root cause and will share updates in the next few days.
Cab aggregator Ola recently launched a series of electric scooters. However, a recent video that emerged from Pune shows how an Ola electric scooter S1 Pro caught fire in the Dhanori area of the city.
The incident was reported on Saturday when a brand new dark blue coloured scooter caught fire on the side of a road.

Ola issued a statement saying it'll investigate the incident and take appropriate action. It assured that vehicle safety is of paramount importance and appropriate action will be taken.
Ola's official statement reads: "We are aware of an incident in Pune that happened with one of our scooters and are investigating to understand the root cause and will share more updates in the next few days. We're in constant touch with the customer who is absolutely safe. Vehicle safety is of paramount importance at Ola and we are committed to the highest quality standards in our products. We take this incident seriously and will take appropriate action and share more in the coming days."

Reacting to the incident, Ola co-founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said in a tweet: "Safety is the top priority. We're investigating this and will fix it."
Ola S1 Pro comes with a 3.97k Wh-lithium ion battery. Whether used in electric vehicles or electronic gadgets, lithium batteries can catch fires if they have been improperly manufactured or damaged or if the software that designed the battery has not properly made it.
Many scooter buyers are also concerned about the quality and the battery range of the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters.
