Minstral the horse, was left suffering with skin condition vitiligo believed to have been a result of over-breeding.
As per National Institute of Health, Vitiligo is a chronic (long-lasting) disorder that causes areas of skin to lose colour. When skin cells that make colour are attacked and destroyed, the skin turns a milky-white color.
After being left with distinctive black and white markings on her face, she was found abandoned in a field by rescuers ¨C where her bizarre appearance made the rescuers think they sent to save a cow, Metro reported.

After being saved from the field in England southeast county of Essex, and having one of her eyes removed because of infection, the horse is now reported to be doing fine after finding a new home at nearby horse sanctuary.
"I first approached her from behind and I thought that she was a cow because the hernia looked like a great big udder, which was the result of overbreeding," Sue Burton, owner of the sanctuary, was quoted telling the Mirror.

"From the front, I honestly thought that somebody had painted her, she had complete white circles around her eyes and this lovely patterned muzzle," he added.
Vets were even forced to remove MinstralĄ¯s left eye not long after she arrived, due to an abnormality that resulted in it rupturing
