While it has been transformed into a wonderful abode, it still has mementos from the property*s past life. There's actually a railway carriage in the garden, which would make the perfect one-of-a-kind garden room or office.
According to a report in Metro, before it was turned into a house, Station Halt at Brampford Speke, was part of the Exe Valley Railway in UK's Devon. It was a branch line built by Great Western Railway (GWR), and opened on May 1, 1885.
In 1923, staff were withdrawn and the station became an unmanned halt. Almost 40 years later, the station was finally closed due to Beeching Cuts, a plan undertaken to increase the efficiency of the nationalised railway system in Great Britain.
The station was turned into a home soon after it stopped all operations. It had a sitting room that opened to the platform and the ticket office served as the bedroom.
Now, the property has been renovated with added attractions like an old railway carriage, a wooden chalet, and a pond.
The main section of the station has two reception rooms, a garden room, a sitting room, a kitchen, and three bedrooms.
The place has now gone on the market with Stags with an asking price of ?5,50,000.
There's some bad news though if you are not so keen on walking a bit. The home is only accessible on foot, following a 900ft-long walk.
