Sadhguru Says Children Should Burst Crackers During Diwali, People Have Mixed Reactions
Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev said that we should not be concerned about air pollution and that it should not be the reason why children cannot burst crackers.
It is almost Diwali, and we can already hear crackers bursting in our neighbourhoods. Needless to say, the conversation around the harm fireworks and crackers bring to the environment feels redundant because people are too thick-headed to understand the consequences. Instead, they attack those who try to educate them and accuse them of 'going against their culture'. Bursting crackers is not in anyone's culture.
A festival can be celebrated without adding to the noise and air pollution. However, despite governments banning crackers, people still manage to buy them from illegal sources and ruin the beauty of the festival.
To add fuel to the fire, spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev said that we should not be concerned about air pollution and that it should not be the reason why children cannot burst crackers. So, basically, he said that we should forget about the well-being of the children and ourselves, and let them participate in an activity that brings only harm.
People have been getting offended at this for a while now but they should really stop and understand why the use of crackers should be stopped.
Taking to Twitter, he suggested an alternative to the people who are concerned about air pollution. Have a look!
¡°Concern about air pollution is not a reason to prevent kids from experiencing the joy of firecrackers. As your sacrifice for them, walk to your office for 3 days. Let them have the fun of bursting crackers (sic),¡± Sadhguru wrote on the microblogging website.
He even put the hashtag - #DontBanCrackers.

In a video, which he posted on Twitter, Sadhguru said: "I have not lit a cracker in quite a few years. But when I was a child, how much it meant... from the month of September, we'll be dreaming of crackers and after Diwali is over, the next one-two months, we will save the crackers and keep on doing them every day."
Of course, people with common sense did not agree with him, but there were some who thought he was making sense. Sigh.

One of the many reasons why I don't find him valuable. Your concern about cancer shouldn't stop you from smoking also then! Look beyond religion and bigotry, there's a beautiful life to be lived! https://t.co/EPnbDTWSn6

B¦Ìrsting firecrackers by kids may cause serious accidents & don't turn this diwali a Dark side 4 the kids & their parents. The long exp0sure of sound from Crackers may Reduce the hearing of kids also.
Please be aware of the consequences crackers bring to the environment and refrain from bursting them since we cannot afford any more damage to the air. Celebrate responsibly, and teach your children the same thing. It is not just pollution that one should be worried about but the endless accidents that take place every Diwali due to firecrackers. Save yourself from mishaps and have a safe Diwali!
