Season's First 'Mango Special' Train Arrives In Delhi From Andhra Pradesh

The season's first 'mango special' train reached Delhi's Adarsh Nagar railway station on Friday from Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram.
According to ANI, the special parcel express train was carrying 200 tonnes of mangoes in 11,600 boxes.

The service is in operation as part of the effort to ensure an uninterrupted supply of essential commodities. The Waltair Division of the East Coast Railway is running special express trains from Vizianagaram, the hub for mangoes from north Andhra Pradesh to Adarsh Nagar, New Delhi.
The First Mango special train of this season had departed Andhra on Wednesday, and after traveling more than 1800 kms the train finally reached its destination on Friday afternoon.

It was reported that considering the requirement by the mango traders, Waltair Division is running the special parcel train services. Despite the pandemic situation, Waltair Division is making all efforts to continue the supply chain of essential commodities.
As per ANI, in the last financial year, Waltair Division had transported 4,350 tonnes of mangoes in 20 special trains.
