Rejoicing the win, it's absolutely understandable that we all want to know where our "hero" comes from. The reigning Asian and Commonwealth Games champion grew up in Khandra village in Haryana¡¯s Panipat district. He had never even seen a javelin, let alone imagining win a gold medal for it in the greatest sports tournament ever. But he did!.
Neeraj also won gold at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, was the 2016 IAAF World U20 champion and set the world junior record of 86.48m previously.
Neeraj's fellow athletes took to Twitter to congratulate him for the historic win.
