Jack Sweeney, who used to track Elon Musk's private jet, made it to quite a few headlines for doing what he did. His account is now banned by Twitter. As per an Insider report, the company first took down the account that used to track Musk's jet information, @elonjet.
After several hours, Jack was informed that his personal account was also being banned. Not only @elonjet, but other accounts that track celebrities' private jet information, which included Mark Zuckerberg, Donald Trump, and Kim Kardashian--a total of 30 accounts--were also suspended several hours after Elon's jet account was banned.
"I really didn't think he'd suspend my personal account. I didn't think he'd do anything because of all the media attention he'd get," Sweeney told Insider.
He got an email from Twitter
As per reports, Sweeney was not informed when the jet tracking account was being suspended but got an email about his private account being suspended.
The mail he got from Twitter that confirmed his personal account was being banned, said that was done for "violating" Twitter's "rules against platform manipulation and spam." The mail also stated that Twitter will also ban any new accounts that Sweeney may create in future.
Sweeney's personal account had more than 150,000 followers when it got banned.
He will continue posting on other social media accounts
@elonjet account had more than 500,000 followers and Sweeney had even paid the $8 charge for that account's blue tick, which he is now asking for back. So far, Sweeney hasn't decided what he is going to do as he is in disbelief.
But one thing is sure - he will not stop posting. He is adamant about posting on other social media platforms. He has also appealed the @ElonJet suspension with Twitter.
As a matter of fact, the jet tracker is even more motivated than ever to keep sharing Elon Musk's private jet whereabouts.
After being suspended from Twitter, Sweeney is looking at other platforms like Instagram, Discord, and Mastodon. Mastodon is a Twitter competitor, and he signed up for it within hours of learning of his Twitter account suspension.
