Thiruvananthapuram: YouTube Vlogger Who Made Offensive Video Manhandled By Women
In the video women say that they were forced to take law into their hands after police failed to take prompt action on the complaint they filed against him.
Dr Vijay P Nair ¨C a YouTube vlogger was assaulted by three women at his residence-cum-office at Gandhari Amman Kovil Road under Thampanoor police station limits on Saturday.
The Youtuber made a video that insulted women rights activists and feminists. Veteran dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi and activists Diya Sana and Sreelakshmi Arackal came to his residence around 4pm, poured black oil over him and forced him to apologise for his regressive remarks on women, reports TOI. The incident was even live streamed on social media.
In the video, the women said they were forced to take matters into their hands after police failed to take prompt action on the complaint they filed against him. Nair uploaded a video on his YouTube channel on August 14; its title, when translated to English, reads, ¡®Why feminists in India and especially Kerala do not wear underwear¡¯. In his video, Nair targets several women, ranging from poet B Sugathakumari to activists Trupti Desai, Bindu Ammini and Rehana Fatima.

DCP (law & order) Divya V Gopinath reportedly said that the women mailed their complaint to the cyber cell on Saturday morning and attacked the vlogger in the afternoon.
¡°It takes due time to verify each complaint received on mail before taking action,¡± she reportedly said, adding that their complaint was forwarded to Museum police station after preliminary verification around 5.30pm after which an FIR was registered there.
