For years, women have been disenfranchised and treated with no respect. Many continue to fight that fight till date.
Feminism is an ideology that asks for basic rights and equality--like the right to vote--for women. It's about economical, emotional and financial independence for women across the world.
Things like gender wage gap are still a problem; sexual harassment at the workplace even after the #MeToo campaign is commonplace; and, of course, sexual assault goes on unabated. But there are still some people who'd rather blame women for the world's problems and who hate this 'F' word with a vengeance.
Like this men's rights group on Karnataka that held a ¡®pisachinimukti puja¡¯ to end feminism. The event was organised by the 'Save Indian Family', an organisation that allegedly claims to 'promote gender equality and family harmony.'

The Facebook page, 'The Spoilt Modern Indian Woman,' shared the hilarious press release with the caption, "Come to think of it, I was indeed feeling sick on 22nd September 2019."
What's even more shocking is that while main puja happened in Karnataka, it was a nationwide event. Meaning, the puja was held in 50 other locations simultaneously on the same day.
It's hard to believe just how regressive people can get sometimes.
The press release says, 'The Save Indian Family movement' is a conglomerate of 40 NGOs who 'believe in promoting the cause of Family Harmony and Gender Equality.' This organisation's poster also spoke about the death of the #MeToo campaign and how men are framed due to the new era of 'digital-mob-lynching.

The spokesperson of the organisation told News18, "The puja is symbolic for us. It will help get rid of this cancer (feminism); to us, the #MeToo movement is rakshasa and needs to be eradicated. Feminism is why families are breaking at the drop of a hat in India. It is destroying the cohesion that holds families together.
@SIFKtka and many more friends are performing #PishachiniMuktiPuja to remove #feminism from our lives.

"We might do it again in order to eradicate the evil that is feminism." And yes, this same group perform the same puja last year in August.
Feminists on the internet are constantly fat-shamed, slut-shamed and to add to the insult pujas are performed to cleanse the society off them, what these mes rights activists and haters don't realize is that none of this is going to affect the movement. Women across the world are going to continue to fight and claim their rights, no matter what.
