Why did the Dubai sky turn green?
According to a Fox News report from last year, it occurs when light diffused by the atmosphere lights ice droplets in a cloud. "Water/ice particles in storm clouds with substantial depth and water content will primarily scatter blue light," authorities from the National Weather Service office in Hastings, Nebraska, told Fox News.
"When the reddish light scattered by the atmosphere illuminates the blue water/ice droplets in the cloud, they will appear to glow green," the researchers said. The publication added, "There is no known correlation between a blue-green sky and tornado production."
