Dispatch uncovered a conversation between the ex-girlfriend, identified as ¡°A,¡± and the man, ¡°B,¡± in which ¡°A¡± admitted she wasn¡¯t sure who the father of the child was. ¡°B¡± pressed her repeatedly to name the father, but ¡°A¡± responded, ¡°How would I know?¡± She had been sexually involved with two men at the time: Son Heung Min and a non-celebrity businessman. She told both men about the pregnancy, but while the businessman remained unresponsive, Son took her claim seriously and responded.
Pregnancy proof and hush money
¡°A¡± sent Son a photo of her pregnancy test and claimed her hCG levels were 5000 mIU/mL, suggesting she was around five or six weeks pregnant. Following this, Son agreed to pay KRW 300 million. On June 24, 2024, she met with Son and his manager, acknowledged the payment, and underwent an abortion the next day. They had no further contact until ¡°B¡± entered her life.
The Blackmailer and shaman pursuaded Son's ex-girlfriend
In December 2024, ¡°A¡± met ¡°B¡± through a famous shaman, referred to as ¡°C¡± in the report. By January 2025, ¡°B¡± and ¡°A¡± were dating. ¡°B,¡± a 41-year-old man with a past conviction for extortion, found a confidentiality agreement on ¡°A¡¯s¡± phone and tried to use it as leverage. He reached out to Dispatch and even attempted to strike a deal with Son¡¯s camp, offering to hand over the document for KRW 20 million. When that failed, he switched sides, offering evidence to Son's team to sue ¡°A¡± for fraud.
Shamanic rituals and spiritual spending by "A"
Dispatch discovered that ¡°A¡± relied heavily on spiritual guidance from ¡°C,¡± who had even predicted her pregnancy. She trusted the shaman enough to bring her along for the abortion procedure and ended up sending KRW 80 million (about USD 57,600) of the money received from Son to ¡°C.¡± This included KRW 30 million for three rituals, KRW 25 million as an offering to her ¡°spiritual grandmother,¡± and another ?25 million as a personal gift to ¡°C.¡± They also went shopping together, spending nearly KRW 20 million.
Was Song Heung Min the real father?
Dispatch tracked both Son and ¡°A¡± during May 2024. Son arrived in Korea on May 23 for the World Cup qualifiers. Meanwhile, ¡°A¡± was in Japan with the businessman until May 30, only returning to contact Son on May 31, leaving just two possible days (May 31 and June 1) for a physical meeting before Son departed again. The timeline further complicates her claim, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the child¡¯s paternity.
Comparison to Kim Soo Hyun¡¯s situation
While ¡°A¡± is not a minor, she is nearly a decade younger than Son, an age gap that has led to public scrutiny, similar to how Kim Soo Hyun faced backlash over his alleged relationship with actress Kim Sae Ron. In both cases, the women were deeply involved in shamanic practices, and both male celebrities, once praised for their clean images, have been dragged into controversy.
As of now, both ¡°A¡± and ¡°B¡± have been arrested, and the police investigation is ongoing. Despite not being the instigator of the extortion attempt, Son Heung Min¡¯s public image has taken a hit.
