'We ended up having a fight...': Shubman Gill opens up on minor tussle with Abhishek Sharma¡ªreason? Surprisingly trivial
While speaking to Gen Bold's episode on JioHotstar, Gill opened up that back during the days of Under-16, Abhishek started playing with his bat, but there's a story behind it. Check out the details here.

Just ahead of the clash between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Shubman Gill is surrounded by headlines; now it is based on his relationship with Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) Abhishek Sharma.
According to a recent PTI report, Gill and Sharma gutted it out in the domestic field for Punjab before entering the Indian Under-19 team. However, the duo won the 2018-19 U-19 World Cup together but have plenty of history, dating back to their under-16 days.
The report further noted that the duo once had a bit of a fight over something very trivial, especially when they were that age.

Did Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma fight?
While speaking to Gen Bold's episode on JioHotstar, Gill opened up that back during the days of Under-16, Abhishek started playing with his bat, but there's a story behind it.
He went on to say that he was batting on 80 or 90 using his match bat, and he didn't want it to break, so he asked him to return it. "We ended up having a bit of a fight over that! But whenever he asked for my bat, I always gave it to him ¡ª and he scored a lot of runs with it," he added.
However, Sharma is not the only one; Gill has prospered in partnership with Sai Sudharsan.

Shubman Gill's partnership with Sai Sudharsan
During the ongoing IPL 2025, Gill and Sai have caused havoc for the opponents. Without the explosive opening duo, GT would not have been able to finish at the top of the points table and become the first team to qualify for the playoffs.
Particularly impressive has been the 23-year-old Sudharsan, who has scored 617 runs, followed by Gill at 2 with 601. The teams are increasingly reporting scores between 250 and 260, which also shows a change in how they approach a game.
