An artist, who goes by the pseudonym Shl0ms, blew up a Lamborghini with the help of an explosives expert. They are now turning the charred parts into a collection of 999 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) 每 to protest crypto*s get-rich-quick culture.
Shl0ms, blew up a second-hand Lamborghini Huracan, which he reportedly purchased at $250,000. He said the car was taken to an undisclosed desert location in the U.S. and blown up by a federally licensed explosives engineer after two weeks of testing explosions, as per The Block, a news outlet that covers crypto.
※NFT technology is incredibly promising, there are so many good things we could do with it but there are so many terrible things being done with it,§ Shl0ms told The Block.
※The Lambo is a pretty potent representation of people simply engaging with crypto because it*s a way for them to make money off other people as quickly as possible,§ he added.

It took a 100-member team, including a federally-licensed explosives engineer, and two weeks to set up the stunt.
The Lamborghini was eventually detonated on February 2, with the video being uploaded to Twitter on February 18, and NFT sales planned for February 25.
After the explosion, the team claims to have picked up the pieces and recorded each one at 4K video quality.
The NFT collection will consist of 999 items. Of that, 111 items will be granted to the team and initial fund provider. The remaining 888 will be put up for sale.

Shl0ms
said the NFT auction winners will get a rotating video of one of the unique Lamborghini parts, but that the NFTs will not be linked to pieces of the destroyed car. The physical pieces of the destroyed car are in storage and will not be distributed, but could possibly be displayed, Shl0ms said.
※I*ve chosen to leave it up to other people to value my art,§ Shl0ms told Fortune.
Shl0ms had initially tweeted about the idea of blowing up a Lamborghini in September 2021, with the objective being to &physically fractionalising* the car.
The artist further clarified in a tweet that he wanted ※to be clear§ that he ※hates§ Lamborghinis, which is why wants to destroy one.
To make the idea a reality, the artist funded most of the project from their own pocket with another entity also getting involved. The goal was to blow up the Lamborghini car, but not incinerate it 〞 ensuring that there was enough left behind to sell.
