Some Of The Most Bat-Crap Crazy Things That Happened In 2020 That Will Confuse Your Emotional Responses
At some point in this year all of us felt, ¡®Well, this is it. I¡¯ve peaked and nothing can possibly surprise me anymore¡¯. We were wrong, and so wrong.
At some point in this year all of us felt, ¡®Well, this is it. I¡¯ve peaked and nothing can possibly surprise me anymore¡¯.
We were wrong, and so wrong.
2020 is the year of all things weird. It¡¯s safe to say it all started with an invisible virus that essentially held us all hostage. We could sing and dance from our own balconies, bang plates, pans and even our heads, but nope, we could not go out, for a very long time. What followed was a series of ¡®Say what?¡¯ incidents.
In fact, there are so many bizarre things that have happened this year, you might need a whole other year to read through them. So, we shortlisted a few of them for you.
1. Monoliths popped up left, right and centre!
If there were a year when Stanley Kubrick¡¯s Space Odyssey had to come true, 2020 would be it. Especially since monoliths seemed to magically appear around the world, one after the other.
It started with Utah, followed by Romania, California, Nevada, The Netherlands, ending with Texas; unless we missed some, which is 100% possible, because at some point we lost count. There were just too many.
To make things even more interesting, they also disappeared randomly. Poof!
2. A 12-YO boy was caught organising a DJ party...in the school loo!
Because apparently, that¡¯s what the cool kids do now. This kid, apparently, is a DJ. He owns his own fancy equipment including flashing lights, which he used to organise a full-fledged DJ party in his school loo. Unfortunately for him, his teachers didn¡¯t quite ¡®dig his vibe¡¯.
3. A woman jumped into the ocean to save...beer kegs!
In life, this is how straight your priorities need to be. #Goals
When Australia¡¯s Queensland and New South Wales regions were flooded due to heavy rain, one woman was captured on video, wading into the sea and grabbing beer kegs that had been swept away from a local surf club.
4. Gucci launched upside-down sunglasses worth Rs 56,000
For people who do not understand fashion or don¡¯t have a taste for offbeat trends, some things just seem plain bizarre. Gucci¡¯s upside-down sunglasses, for instance, make no sense to a lot of us. Erm... can we just wear our glasses upside down?
Obviously, it took the internet by storm. Some loved it, others had no idea why Gucci would do this. Gucci, do you plan on explaining this anytime soon?
5. A man walked 450 km to ¡®cool down¡¯ after having an argument with his wife
They say ¡®take a walk¡¯ when you are mad or upset or feeling anxious. But we¡¯re pretty sure they do not mean for you to do that across several pincodes! This dude walked 450 km amid COVID-19 restrictions, apparently to ¡®cool down¡¯ after having a tiff with his wife. Seriously though, did they have an inter-planetary war or something? How much cooling off did you need dude?
6. When the legend Diego Maradona passed away, people mourned another celebrity instead
It is one thing to hate on Snapdeal instead of Snapchat, and quite another to confuse two people - one a legend of soccer who passed away, and the other an iconic singer who is very much alive. Yep. People confused the two, and how!
7. A full-grown tree was stolen¡
There are certain things you do not expect to be stolen, or at least hope they won¡¯t be. Well, if you had expectations in 2020 that¡¯s on you. A full-grown sandalwood tree was stolen from a college in Pune. The theft occurred on November 5 when culprits sawed down the tree in the wee hours of the morning and stole the stump, according to a report by Hindustan Times.
8. And an entire bus stop was stolen!
This also happened in Pune. Someone actually posted a picture of a notification at a Pune bus stop, that was seeking to find the people who stole it. Here¡¯s the best part - the bus stop that was stolen was actually located in front of a police station!
Erm, Pune? Maybe look into why people are stealing all this weird stuff?
