British Grandmother, 70, Scoops Lottery Prize: Rs 10.37 Lakh Per Month For 3 Decades

On her birthday, a grandmother from Dorking, England, won a lottery for 10,000 pounds (about Rs 10.37 lakh) for the next 30 years. She will receive this amount each month for the next many years.

She stated that her fortuitous win has inspired her to live to the age of 100. Doris Stanbridge, 70, of Dorking, Surrey, celebrated her 70th birthday by purchasing a lottery ticket for thousands of pounds.

She was preparing for her 70th birthday party and discovered Money Spiders in her home while doing so. It is a spider species that is known to bring fortune to the family. Doris Stanbridge was inspired to buy a lottery ticket and try her luck.

During her birthday party, she received an email from the National Lottery, a company that runs lottery games. She logged into the app, believing she had won 10 pounds or some other little prize.

Dorris Stanbridge couldn't believe her eyes after reading the email that said, "Congratulations, you've won ?10K Thousand a month for 30 years." "I asked Keith (Doris' husband), 'Did I read that correctly?'" Is that what I believe it means? "No, it can't be," Dorris stated in an interview with the Daily Mail.

The surprised grandma sought a second view from her son-in-law and afterwards celebrated her birthday with a bottle of champagne.

The woman still feels strange about the win

Dorris Stanbridge received official confirmation from the National Lottery the following morning by mail. "It still seems strange when I think about the win and the fact that I will receive that money every month for the next 30 years."

It gives me a cause to live till I'm 100!" Dorris Stanbridge stated. In August, an old woman won the lotto. So far, she and her husband Keith have purchased a new bed and an Airfryer.

The newlyweds and their extended family also took a trip to Cornwall. Aside from that, they intend to renovate their 50-year-old home. They plan to take their family on a long vacation overseas soon.

If all goes as planned, this will be her grandson's first flight, according to the 70-year-old grandma. Dorris won The National Lottery's Set For Life draw on August 3 after purchasing the winning ticket that night. The winning lottery numbers were 2,11,17,30,38, and Life Ball 3.
