A strange incident occurred in an Arkansas, US, court.

While the court was busy with a verdict, a man who had already been found guilty and given a lengthy prison sentence by the law decided to just walk out of the courtroom in casual fashion "to freedom." The entire incident was documented on video and uploaded to the internet, where it is now making the rounds on social media.

At a court in Arkansas, the defendant, who is identified as Joey Watts, was charged with aggravated assault and a felony for possessing a handgun. However, Watts merely left the Grant County Courthouse while the jury was outside deliberating.

Nobody in the court noticed him leaving the room

The most astonishing aspect of the story is that no one in the courtroom seemed to be watching him as he left. The occurrence took place more than a year ago. Watts had already been convicted of the assault charges at the time.

The courtroom was full of people except the jury, which was deliberating the weapons charge outside the court. In the video, an attorney can be seen talking to a few women who are seated right next to where the man left.

There was also an attorney who was seated at the same table as Joey Watts, but he didn't notice him get up and simply walk out. A woman, the court reporter, was seen using her phone in the CCTV footage, completely ignoring her surroundings.

However, Watts' attempt at an escape was not very successful. The very next day, he was captured and imprisoned. Watts received a 36-year prison term, with 10 years for the attack and 26 years for the gun possession. He was out on bond and had not been found guilty, so this permitted him to move around, Grant County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Pete Roberts said while discussing the event with NBC News.
