The rule has been the subject of rumours for a long time now, but speculation was shattered when Cornwall¡¯s Duchess, Camilla Parker Bowles, and Master Chef Australia appeared.
When asked about food restrictions in the royal family, Bowles said, ¡°I hate to say that, but garlic. Garlic is a no-no."
This was also confirmed by Darren McGrady, who served as royal chef at Buckingham Palace for almost 15 years. Speaking to RecipesPlus, Darren said: ¡°There will never be garlic on the Queen¡¯s menu."
Based on several media reports, the main reason for the royal family¡¯s adherence to such a rule is that the royal family has to meet many people. They meet and talk with a lot of people, and in order to avoid the possibility of having bad breath, garlic is banned for the members of the royal family.
