Tamil Actor Suriya's Fans Erect 215-Ft-Tall, Allegedly World's Largest Cut-Out, Despite HC Ban
Tamil Super Star Suriya's Fans Erect 215-Feet-Tall, Allegedly World's Largest Cut-Out, Before The Release Of NGK
In Tamil Nadu a fan's love for his/her favourite actor knows no bounds. Whether it is dousing actors' posters with milk, or erecting larger-than-life cut-outs, these are sights common to the people of Tamil Nadu.
To celebrate the release of Nandha Gopalan Kumaran (NGK) - a movie starring actor Surya - a 215-feet-high cut-out of the actor sporting a folded veshti and a shirt with a fire torch in his hand, has been erected in the Thiruttani town of Tamil Nadu.
This has taken place despite the 2017 Madras High Court ban on such posters. The Court had ordered a blanket ban on cut-outs, hoardings, flex boards and banners featuring living persons across Tamil Nadu.
This crazy poster was the team effort of fans who documented its making on a Twitter page named 'Tiruttani Suriya Fort'.
Our Sincere Thanks to All Anna @Suriya_offl Fans

According to reports, a grand inauguration has been planned before the movie's release on 31st.
In January this year, fans doing the usual 'milk abhishekam' on a huge cut-out of actor suffered grave injuries after the whole structure collapsed during the act.
Dear @CMOTamilNadu - Please Ban tall cutouts for all movie stars throughout tamilnadu . This should never ever repeat - Prayers to family of the injured !! #Viswasam pic.twitter.com/Z60VvXiCnv
