Video: Prankster Almost Dies Swimming Under Ice, Friends Thought He Was Joking Again

It's no news that many users on TikTok purposely put themselves in life-threatening situations just for the sake of creating something that might just end up making them popular on the video-sharing app.

This is the dark side of apps such as TikTok, there's no knowing how far the next user will go just for some likes.

The latest guy on that list is a user named Jason Clark who, no surprise, had a near-death experience while filming a video. Already popular for his adventure videos, Clark's recent stunt turned out to be a little scary for him and his viewers.

The digital content creator took to Instagram to share his 'deadly' ordeal with death. He posted his TikTok video on Instagram along with a caption that said, 'I have never been this close to dying.....I had accepted that was it and I wasn¡¯t going to make it.'

I have never been this close to dying. I didn¡¯t think my eyeballs would freeze so quick. The surface of the water where the hole was didn¡¯t look any different than the bottom of the ice. When I flipped around and felt solid ice I thought I was at the hole. When I wasn¡¯t that¡¯s when I decided to head back and follow the dust I kicked up. The dust I kicked up had drifted and led me further away. I then tried to break the ice with my back, you can see in the video. I don¡¯t know what made me turn around one last time. I was so short on breath I couldn¡¯t really see anymore. I had accepted that was it and I wasn¡¯t going to make it. I swung my hand at what I though was just a lighter spot of ice and my hand came through. I then got a ton of energy to stand up. It took 2-3 breaths to regain my vision after resurfacing. She genuinely thought it was another one of my jokes and didn¡¯t recognize the severity of the situation.

Clark, who has over 450k followers on TikTok had a friend help him record a video of him swimming under the ice. However, the swim does not go as planned and Clark can be seen struggling to find the opening to get out of the water. At one point, he can also be seen trying to break the ice with his back but in vain.

He mentioned in his Instagram post that once he was inside the water, he got confused because the bottom of the ice did not look any different from the water at the hole.

He wrote, 'The surface of the water where the hole was didn¡¯t look any different than the bottom of the ice. When I flipped around and felt solid ice I thought I was at the hole. When I wasn¡¯t that¡¯s when I decided to head back and follow the dust I kicked up.'

He further explains his struggle and honestly, it is nothing short of terrifying. 'The dust I kicked up had drifted and led me further away. He also pointed out that since he is a man known to joke around, the person filming the video did not grasp the severity of the situation and assumed that it is one of his shenanigans. His video has over 21 million views on TikTok and people are feeling super anxious after watching it.

However, Clark managed to find the opening and came back to safety. The incident has left him a little shaken and that is absolutely understandable. Putting your life at risk for any reason whatsoever should not be on your list. I mean, what was he thinking?
