According to TOI, the 70-year-old man named Parvat Gala Baria picked up the snake and literally devoured it in anger.
The man's daughter-in-law told media that another relative who witnessed the entire episode, took the snake and burnt it.
The relative then rushed Baria to a nearby hospital with the dead snake's remains.

Unfortunately, Baria was not treated on the first go. He was shunted through three hospitals: from a government, private and to a civil hospital. It just goes to show the inefficiency of medical facilities in our country.
The poor man finally succumbed to the poisonous bite.
In a similar incident that took place back in 2012, a Nepali man working in his rice paddy chased the snake that attacked him, caught it and bit it until it died.
