There are soaps that cost Rs 10, 20, 50, or even 100. Then, there are soaps that cost a fortune. Like this soap produced in Tripoli, Lebanon, which costs a whopping $2,800 (Rs 2.07 lakh).
A small family-owned soap factory in Lebanon claims to produce the world¡¯s most expensive bar of soap. Amazingly, the family have a long history of producing premium soap bars since the 15th century.
The handmade Khan Al Saboun soap created by Bader Hassen & Sons are known for making a variety of luxury soaps and skincare products containing beneficial essential oils and natural fragrances.
These products are only available in most exclusive shops in UAE. However, the most expensive product sold by the company is only reserved for VIPs and special guests.
According to the reports, the soap was first made in 2013, which was gifted to Qatar¡¯s first lady. The most expensive bar of soap is infused with gold and diamond powder.
The soap bar contains 17 grams of pure gold powder (24 karat), and three grams of diamond powder, mixed with pure oils, organic honey, aged oud, dates and it reportedly takes six months to manufacture.
Bader Hassen and Sons have refined their most premium soap bar, which formerly looked more like an expensive cheese piece. A video of the company¡¯s CEO Amir Hasen went viral last year when he presented the premium gold soap bar to a popular Bahraini actress Shaila Sabt.
Back in 2015, when the BBC first showed the world¡¯s most premium bar of soap, it was reported that the expensive product had a rough texture because of the gold and diamond powder, but Amir Hasen clarified that it won¡¯t hurt the skin and called using it as a delight for the senses.
Hasen further speaking about the soap said, ¡°It changes your shower from daily routine to a pleasure. The soap is something really special, it has a psychological and spiritual effect on human beings.¡±
