US Man Becomes The 25th Richest Man For A Few Hours After $50 Billion Land In His Account By Mistake

Imagine you get a notification on your phone from your bank and you see the bank has credited billion of dollars. Well, this happened to an American man and he became one of the richest men in the world for at least a few hours.

This man named Darren James became the 25th richest man in the world for a few hours after a staggering $50 billion had appeared in the bank account. This man, who is from Louisiana, USA, was left shocked after this happened to him.

According to The Daily Star, Dareen was so stunned that he could not believe his eyes. "It was crazy just to see what it looks like because I've never seen that many zeros in my life," he told BR Proud.

"I¡¯m like where did that come from?" he told FOX9 in a separate interview after the confusion in June 2021. "And all we were thinking was who¡¯s going to be knocking on our door¡­because we don¡¯t know anybody with that type of money to begin with."

He called the bank immediately and asked them to correct the mistake

But the man didn't really quickly think how he would spend all this money, he chose to take the path of righteousness. He contacted his bank, Chase, to arrange its return to the rightful owner.

"We knew it wasn't ours," he said. "We didn¡¯t earn it, so we couldn¡¯t do anything with it."

Even though he fantasised about this, Darren's former job in law enforcement meant that he knew keeping the money would be considered theft. When he alerted the bank, they immediately began work to get the funds back.

But the bank never revealed where the money came from, or how the error came about. And a few days later, the riches had vanished again. "It was a hold placed on it. It showed up on Saturday to make a deposit for our daughter. It stayed there Sunday, Monday and Tuesday it was gone."

The man has some great plans for this sort of thing if it legitimately happens. He plans to donate the money to the poor. "I would bless other people¡ªto give people hope that there is positive in this world," he continued. "That¡¯s what my biggest dream is."
